Palm Beach County’s public school system is warning that an online flyer using high school logos to tout a Friday night “Back 2 School Party” are not affiliated with the county’s schools.
Saying that concerned parents have contacted schools about an online advertisement boosting the event, the district said in a statement this afternoon that the party is not a school-sanctioned event.
The ads feature logos for local high schools, including Dwyer, Lake Worth, Forest Hill, Suncoast and Palm Beach Gardens high schools.
It touts the location as an address on Greenwood Avenue in West Palm Beach.
“The District is in no way affiliated with the advertised event,” the statement said. “We presume the schools’ logos have been taken from websites. We are currently researching the legality of third parties using these logos for this purpose. “
District officials say promotions for the party are popping up on social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter.
