The trial of former Palm Beach County School Board member Mike Murgio and his son has been postponed until February.

A federal judge in New York decided this month to postpone the trial, originally set for Oct. 31, to allow more time for federal officials to unencrypt evidence.

The trial for Mike and Anthony Murgio and three co-defendants is now set for Feb. 6.

Mike Murgio was charged in April with participating in a bribery scheme to shield the operations of his son’s unlicensed money-transfer business.

His arrest prompted him to resign from the school board.

His son, Anthony Murgio, was indicted last year for his role in operating the business, Coin.mx, which federal agents say used bitcoins, a digital currency, to launder cash for online criminals.
