More than 120 PBC Schools reopen Monday for free meals

2016 summer lunchYes, today is the last day of school. But more than 120 schools will be open again on Monday to offer free meals.

The Palm Beach County School District’s summer food service runs from June 6 to August 5, 2016 and is serving up both breakfast and lunch to anyone 18 or younger in neighborhoods where poverty runs high – at least half the children qualify for federally subsidized meals.

In addition to the 120-plus schools offering the meals, the district is also working with the West Palm Beach library and the Delray Beach parks department to provide meals there, said Pete Wood, who’s in charge of the program for the district.
