A former biology teacher at John I. Leonard High School has had his teaching license revoked after asking a 17-year-old student to kiss him during the last school year.

Ex-teacher Brian Palmberg, now 55, resigned from the school last summer after investigators found he had asked a student to kiss him and had shown her romantic statements he wrote on his school computer.

The 17-year-old student reported Palmberg’s actions and said they made her feel uncomfortable, prompting a school district investigation.

His state teaching license was permanently revoked by the state last month, records show.

Palmberg had once been the coach of the girls soccer team at Glades Central High School. At John I. Leonard, he had been the sponsor of the school’s Achievers Club.
